Making The Rain Your Own

With all of the members and information available today on The ActiveRain Real Estate Network, it's easy to get overwhelmed and consumed. The goal however should always be to help you and your business grow.

As The Network has grown we've instituted tools to help you define your niche, your contacts, and refine your resources. These tools are there to help you make The ActiveRain Real Estate Network an even better resource for you.

Image of ActiveRain's associates and groups listsThe associates list is the first tool to help you shape The Network more in your favor. With the associates list tools you can create a list of those individual ActiveRain profiles that you'd most like to keep up with. You can make different groups of associates for different purposes. Each group of associates you create will give you a link that will filter all posts in the network to only those ones that your associates have posted. Set up and manage your list of associates closely so that you can get the maximum benefit out of ActiveRain.

ActiveRain Groups were created to help you further define and express your niche interests. Groups are administered by group members themselves, not ActiveRain, each group is unique, and being a part of a group, like the associates feature will help you get the information you are looking for. A group's strength of course will depend upon how strongly and consistently that group maintains itself. Join a group that matches your interests and concerns.

The greater ActiveRain Real Estate Network is a wonderful source to learn and share and grow your business. Utilizing these tools will help you further refine the wealth of information available to you here on The ActiveRain Real Estate Network.

Make The Rain your own and keep it relevant to your daily business routine.

Thanks Caleb

This will be very helpful to the newbies, and public at large. We have so many great blogs that it can be overwhelming to a new person.  The tools you and the boys have developed are just amazing! Thank you for active rain!

Thanks of the organizational tips...I am new (last Friday) so I am sure you saved me hours of figuring out this out.  I know about the forums etc., just haven't gotten to everything yet!

BTW, I did email Matt asking about his "assistant" ....still no word...

My assistant checking todays weather for me....

Seattle, snow, cockatoo, moluccan

Brrrr...it's cold!   Snow day for everyone in Seattle....time to work at the home office!

Great point about fine tuning the Associates list.  Question - are those posts visible by all members - or just to the Associates of the blog poster??

THank you for the tips as there really is no "USER MANUAL" for Active Rain. As a newbie here I need all the help i can get! :) THanks again

Appreciate your "fine tuning" our understanding of these features!

Now, we just need to have the consumer-oriented groups show up on Localism!

Thanks everybody.  Tony, to answer your question.

An associate that you've added to your list of associates are the only ones that can read your "associates only posts."  All of your other post are viewable if someone adds you as their associate.

Snowboarding in Durango next week. So yes I am.

I Did refeature the Welcome Wagon, thanks, that's one guide, I've also put together another ActiveRain Guide but it needs severe adjustment.

Very good, and much appreciated, post.  I think more might need to be done for ratings and bookmark and the flag post.  When I first joined I was rating posts that I thought were good a #1.  Whoops!!!

Thanks for all that you do!

Caleb, the Associate Lists are what I still find most useful. That is where I go first to find new post by people that I have come to know on here.  That is where I start and also where I end before I call it quits for the night.

Wish I would have found this post a few weeks ago when I was new and needed help with Associates.  Thank you in advance from all the newbies.

Caleb-I still have not used all the choices in the toolbar of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe etc... because all of those selections intimidate me.  I am much more comfortable navigating around ActiveRain.  This site is really user friendly and I hope it stays that way.

I didn't realize we could filter posts by Associates. That's a great feature. Time to get to work cleaning up my list now.

I like that the associates are "groupable," as it makes management much easier.  There are so many blogs around, that I'm always trying to find better ways so sort through to find the information I'm looking for.  Everything helps!

There's so much to learn; and you're right it can get consuming. But it's great that there are also so many helpful posts like yours. Thanks!
